Terms and Conditions of use

1.Object

1.1 These General Online Sales Conditions, in conjunction with the order form and other elements specified therein, regulate the terms and conditions of the provision of the Online Shop of Vale da Veiga – Sociedade Agrícola, Lda, that has its registered office at Quinta de Nossa Senhora do Amparo, 5150-645 Vila Nova de Foz Côa, with registration and corporate body number PT509 926 380, and share capital of €10.000, hereinafter called VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES.

1.2 The purchase of any product from VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop implies accepting these General Online Sales Conditions.

1.3 All alcoholic beverages available for sale in VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop can only be purchased by persons of legal drinking age in their country of residence.

2. Information on Products, Prices and Content

2.1 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES reserves the right to modify, without prior notice and at any time, the information and commercial offer presented in relation to products, prices, special offers, commercial terms and services.

2.2 The images that illustrate each product in VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES may differ from the product that is subsequently delivered, and products may run out of stock.

2.3 Under Portuguese law, all prices shown in VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES include the corresponding Portuguese legally prevailing VAT rates, unless otherwise stated (by means of written information: “Without VAT” always visible and next to the price).

2.4 The special offers published in VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop may not apply to our physical shop or to the physical or online shops of our distributors or resellers.

2.6 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES also informs that the online shop is an e-commerce platform meant to supply the final consumer and reserves the right to limit the sales stock of some items per customer.

3. Orders and Payment

3.1 After an order is confirmed with VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES, an e-mail will be sent to the contact address registered by the customer at the time of the account registration, specifying all the delivery and billing details, payment information, products and amounts. VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES suggests that all customers confirm these details. If a customer does not receive an order confirmation e-mail, he or she should contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES via the contacts specified below.

3.2 If any of the details provided by the customer when making the order are found to be wrong and/or the customer wants to change any information, as long as the order has not yet been dispatched, the customer should contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES as soon as possible via the contacts specified below, to make the alteration requested by the customer internally. Changes to the details of any orders that have already been dispatched will have to be analysed by VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES team so that, together with the customer, we may find a more appropriate solution.

3.3 All orders made to VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES will only be processed after full payment is received. Formalisation of the order does not, in its own right, constitute reservation of the products.

3.4 If an order cannot be fulfilled, in part or in full, the customer will be immediately contacted by VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES in order to find the most suitable solution.

3.5 Orders may be cancelled when the customer expressly requests through one of the contacts provided below, before the orders are dispatched. After confirmation of the order’s dispatch, the customer should contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES so that, in conjunction with the latter, we may find the most appropriate solution.

3.6 In VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop, payments are accepted via Multibanco (ATM) Reference, MB Way, Credit Card, Bank Transfer or Paypal.

3.7 The status of orders at VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES encompass three stages: Pending, In Processing and Completed.

  1. Pending – Waiting for payment to enter VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES system;
  2. In Processing –When the payment has been received, and the order is being processed and in preparation;
  3. Completed – The order has already been dispatched to the customer.

3.8 Payments shall be received in Euros, regardless of the currency in which the transaction is made. The customer shall bear all conversion charges for payments made in other currencies.

4. Delivery costs

4.1 In addition to the prices specified for the products, the respective delivery costs depend on the order’s weight and delivery destination. The total delivery costs will be automatically calculated when the customer places an order in the Online Shop. Please note that the factors considered in this calculation may vary and may change without notice.

5. Dispatches and Deliveries 

5.1 For orders to be sent to the requested address, the customer must indicate the respective Country and Zip Code (Postal Code). The order will always be dispatched with the respective waybill. The customer should take into account the fact that shipping times are estimated times. If the shipping company tries to make a delivery and the customer is not at home at the scheduled time, the shipping time may change.

5.2 As a general rule, the shipping times after dispatch of orders from VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES are:

. Between 48 hours to 96 hours for Mainland Portugal
. Between 4 to 15 working days for the rest of Europe

NOTE: VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES sends orders to the following countries: Portugal, Spain, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland*, Andorra, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Gibraltar, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine.
Other countries may also be eligible for shipping (see if your country is on the list when making the purchase)
*The shipping for Switzerland is limited up to 12 bottles per order and per client.

If the country for which you want to place your order is not on our list, please contact us via e-mail at loja@valedaveiga.com to evaluate the possibility of sending the order.

5.3 The customer will receive a notification e-mail with confirmation of the order’s dispatch as soon as it is processed, which will specify a link and tracking number to track the parcel. Orders are executed on a first-come, first-served basis and are only dispatched after confirmation of payment. If, for any reason, the customer does not receive the shipping confirmation, he or she should contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES through one of the contacts listed below and all available shipping information for the order will be resent.

5.4 After notification of dispatch, clients should follow and track the order’s state through the link provided by the hired delivery Company since VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES does not notify the client of any change or delay on the delivery of the order.

5.5 All products sent by VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES must be checked upon delivery. If the customer finds that the order is damaged, he or she must immediately return it to the shipping company, and provide due justification for this return on the shipping company’s delivery note, and immediately notify VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES via one of the contacts listed below.

5.6 If, after delivery, the customer finds that any of the items are not in conformity, he or she must immediately contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES via e-mail loja@valedaveiga.com  indicating the order number, or the number of the order’s accompanying document, attaching images of the packaging as received and pictures of all items, so that the enquiry process of the occurrence may be opened internally and the situation resolved as quickly as possible.

5.6 If, after delivery, the customer finds that any of the items are not in conformity, he or she must immediately contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES via e-mail loja@valedaveiga.com indicating the order number, or the number of the order’s accompanying document, attaching images of the packaging as received and pictures of all items, so that the enquiry process of the occurrence may be opened internally and the situation resolved as quickly as possible.

5.8 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES has contracted services with specialised shipping companies for making deliveries in Portugal, Europe and most countries around the world. Every effort is made to comply with shipping and delivery deadlines. However, it should be noted that possible delivery delays may be beyond the control of VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES, and in these cases, it is not possible to guarantee exact shipping times.

5.9 Most deliveries shall be made during regular business hours on working days to the address indicated when the order was placed.

5.10 In the event of an unsuccessful delivery attempt due to absence, an attempted delivery notification shall be left in the customer’s mailbox, with the shipping company’s instructions. Depending on the service and the shipping company, delivery can be rescheduled or collected at the carrier’s location indicated in the attempted delivery notification.

5.11 If, for any reason, the customer is unable to receive the order or cannot pick it up at the location indicated by the shipping company, he or she should contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES so that they can jointly find the most suitable solution.

6. Returns

6.1 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES recognises that all its customers are entitled to terminate the contracts they enter into, and may return, within 14 (fourteen) days, the products purchased under the terms of Portuguese legislation for distance and off-premises contracts (Decree-Law no. 24/2014, of February 14, amended by Law no. 47/2014, of July 28 and Decree-Law no. 78/2018 of October 15).

6.2 To exchange or return any item, the customer must contact VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES via e-mail loja@valedaveiga.com indicating the order or accompanying document number, taking into account the conditions described below, in the following topics:

  1. To return the order, the products must be in perfect condition and, if applicable, with their original packaging, accessories or special offers included, accompanied by proof of purchase or the invoice.
  2. The return of defective products and wrong dispatches is permitted, wherein VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES shall be liable for the respective shipping and collection costs, whenever the customer communicates this fact within 14 (fourteen) days from the date of receipt of the product.
  3. Once the goods are received at our premises, and after validating their status in conformity, the total amount shall be refunded according to the payment method used by the customer or another solution previously agreed with the latter.

6.3 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES assumes liability for any defects of origin or raw material of the purchased product, and if confirmed by VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES specialised team, the product will be exchanged or returned without any cost to the customer.

6.4 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES will not accept a product’s return after it has been used or if it has been altered or modified.

6.5 VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES is not liable for any deficiencies resulting from incorrect use, negligence, poor storage conditions or force majeure events.

7. Applicable legislation

7.1 All purchases made on VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop website are subject to Portuguese law. Any conflict or divergence in the interpretation of the General Online Sales Conditions will be submitted to the competent Portuguese Court or one of the Alternative Dispute Resolution entities for Consumer Disputes:

  • CNIACC – Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo
  • Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Nova de Lisboa – Campus de Campolide

7.2 If the Client is located outside Portugal, VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES hereby states that any legal proceedings shall be submitted exclusively to Portuguese Courts or one of the Alternative Dispute Resolution entities for Consumer Disputes:

  • Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Nova de Lisboa – Campus de Campolide

The terms described here, as well as their disputes, are in agreement and will be dealt with by Portuguese law. These general sales conditions of VALE DA VEIGA – DOURO WINES Online Shop may be changed without any prior notice, and should therefore be consulted before placing any order.
